since mi hosting provider is not really reliable on the management of the mail i've hacked the phph class to store the messages in a dir of the site. than I download them and send them with my local smtp.
Is there someone interested in helping me with this project?

no, I mean the function used by XOOPS (php mail, sendmail, smtp) to send conventional emails.

Don't know if you are interested, but if you like the idea you could join us in developing WebMailFX. The code you hacked/wrote could be probably helpful/interesting to us also.
