is there a way to take the number of hits off the links page?

Modify mylinks template file:
mylinks_link.html

then update the module under system admin

do you know what line takes out the counted number of hits? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you had looked carefully, you would have noticed the highlighted part. Just remove it or you could remove the whole thing if you don't care about the voting.

Don't be afraid to try yourself. Make a backup copy of the file and try it. In case of mistakes, just upload the backup file, you are back to square one. Good luck.
