Do i have to remove the HTML file and transfer its contents to the root directory?

I haven't done that on my other website http://www.shangri-la-la.co.uk? Sorry but im relatively new to this XOOPS thingy!

The files within the HTML directory of your XOOPS download should be in the root of your website if that's what you mean. BTW, your http://www.shangri-la-la.co.uk? is about 520 kilobytes which is too big really for decent performance. At that size it'll take 56k users at least a minute and a half to download it as it is, and that is providing they have a very good connection.
