I am looking for a module that will present the user with a window on a web page and allow telnet or rlogin connections from my web server running XOOPS 2.7.1 on apache 2.x with PHP 4.3.8

The reason is only the web server address will be granted access privileges to the addresses to be connected to.

this controls who connects via telnet to the hosts im running.

sort of a telnet proxy server?
connection would be like this.

Web Browser --> My Web Server Telnet applet/Module? --> telnet host

I don't know of one for XOOPS but there have been a few discussions about it and there are some stand alone apps for doing this that could be turned into a module.

First thing is to suggest staying with SSH even if connectivity is limited to localhost. There are some (Java I think) apps for doing this, suggest looking at freshmeat.net for ideas. Plenty of apps there for doing this.
