I'm creating an online community website for my local area and I want to be able to have reviews and ratings for particular items.

I want a structure of categories and sub-categories containing items e.g. a venue, which then has a little bit of factual information and allows users to comment on and rate the item.

If anything like this already exists i'd like to know, i'm hunting around at the moment but am not having much luck, I suppose I could always try and modify the news module...

Also I would like an events section that lists upcoming events, it would work along the same lines as above in that they'd fall into categories and users could comment on and possible rate an event. In addition I want them to be able to add themselves as going to that event and other users to see a list of who else is going.

Again if anything exists I'd be very interested, if theres something similar that would help, if someone wants to help then great! Otherwise i guess i'll have to start programming it..
