Suddenly can't log in or register new users

I'm running several XOOPS 1.0 RC 3.0.4 installations on my server. Starting today, I can't log in ("Incorrect Login!") or register new accounts ("Could not register new user.").

This happens on all the XOOPS installations (which are all on different domains). This seems to by MySQL related, but my other scripts are still working normally (phpBB, etc.).

Any clues of where I can start troubleshooting?

I am totally unfamilar with version 1 of Xoops.

A couple of obvious questions leap to mind:

1. Try turning on debug if it is available to see what errors occur (show up)
2. Why not upgrade to version 2 if you think MySQL has passed you by

I would guess that given your XOOPS installation v 1.0 rc 3.0.4 is so old you might have difficulty getting help because so many of us are many versions out of phase with you. Sorry.

I had a similar problem recently, but with 2.0.6. My provider said it was because SQL server had used up all its processes available.
I don't know if that helps you any.....
