Hi
I work now in an apple, and I'd like to test my XOOPS locally.
I used xaamp (www.apachefriends.org) in my pc, but I do not find a similar solution (web server + MySQL + php + ftp) for mac.

This is the first time I miss somethiong from a pc lol..

Does anyone knows about one?

If you are OSX and beyond you should be able to run the Linux binaries under your OS.

I assume you are running on mac osx;
PHP and Apache are pre-installed on your mac (since it is unix powered), you just have to activate them.
You only will need to download MySQL and phpmyadmin, and then use the Terminal application
I propose you to visit this site, which might be useful, and absolutely visit this other site.

PS I still have to figure out a lot of things about the mac. But i guess I wont go back to a pc

Entropy is alright but a better option is this one:

ServerLogistics

They have complete packages for Apache 2, MySQL, and PHP and also include Preferences Panes that allow you to control Apache and MySQL from the System Preferences.
