Hey ALL,
Smiles arnt working in the forum, cant figure out why.
any help appreciated.

Hmmm lets see:

- are they only not working in the forum or elsewhere too?
(maybe you could activate news module and test them in there?) Also you should remove the 'News' link at the top of your theme if your are not using it.


Something i would try: (always keep backups though)

- reupload the files in:
{xoops_rootdir}\modules\system\admin\smilies

- possibly reupload the
{xoops_rootdir}\modules\newbb files
(only if smilies work in other modules like news for example

Can you see them in the admin menu?

mattm:
you can see them in the forum when you create a post but they dont get shown in the final post as smilies.
(as if you check 'disable smilies' which isnt the case)

i can see them in the admin menu and when i go to post. but for some reason XOOPS isnt parsing the bbcode corectly and replacing the smiles with images. I looked at the textsanitizer class in hopes i could change it but it did not work. I changed the boolean values to allow html and smiles and bbcode, but still no good. I am at a lose and the members of my site wnat 2 things:
1) ability to post smiles
2) ability to at least post bbcode if html is not allowed.

Sorry - not much help, I know, but the best I could suggest would be to re-install the newbb module and, perhaps the textsanitiser bit as well in case something has been accidentally edited (easy to do!).
