how do you change name of menu items?

on the main menu there are the names of the modules/items available for the user. how do you change the name of the items on the main menu? not the actual blaocks, because i dont have many activated, but listed menu items. (web links, photo galery, etc.)

reason why i ask is i want to add special names to the items to match a them i am thinking of.

Go to the Control Panel >> Modules Administration page, and rename the modules.

I have a similar query but I want to rename the "Inbox" link to say "Private Messages". This doesn't appear as a module so I'm a bit stuck!

The purpose is that, looking at it from the point of view of a newcomer to XOOPS (also imagine a person not very web savvy in general) it is not immediately evident how to send a private message to someone.

Any help much appreciated!
