My site uses ISO-8859-2 codepage, I have it set in lang/global.php. However, all e-mail notifications are encoded in 8859-1.

This bug occured in 2.0.6 and is still present in 2.0.7 (I upgraded with a diff package).

Too trivial to put an answer?

Encoding is hard-coded in /class/phpmailer.php. You should set $charSet='iso-8859-2';

But what role plays constant _CHARSET in lang/global.php?

For encoding the content of the Site not the mail.
