i installed XOOPS sometime ago, and as i didn´t find proper german language files, i started creating my own, which works perfectly in most cases.

anyhow, in my main menu block, the module submenus (e.g. on news-module "submit news") still apear in english.
i searched the module language files and the general language files for it, but as a matter of fact wasn´t successfull.

can anybody tell me, where i can find the proper files to adjust these, as it looks dumb, when everything is in german, but the sub-menus in my main menu block?

Those should be in the
modules/modulename/language/german/modinfo.php

Submenu links are defined in the module's xoops_version.php so you may find some hard-coded terms there as well.
