There is so much talk about the lack of CMS in XOOPS. I felt so too, until I found TinyD! I think this (or something that does what it does) needs to be a core mod.

hi JMass.
I am glad of your liking TinyD.
TinyD has already been a popular module in Japan.
But it is not so popular in whole of XOOPS world.

I think that this module is not only revolutionary but also tricky.
(TinyD does not work well in some limited environments.)

Thus, I gave up recommending this mod as core.

I can understand if there are some issues. However the NEED for a flexible way to add content and have it show up in the main menu in a controlable way is critical to many people. Others have tried to add additional menu blocks, set up navigation in the main page or even replace the main menu with an arbitrary menu. To me the TinyD solution is the least of all evils. I think there are more elegant solutions to the limited number of replications, etc. but it is a great start.

I would be interested to hear the arguements against it (or a module that accomplishes the same thing) as a core mod.

In the future (Xoops 2.2) the core itself won't contain any modules as Herko stated in one WOX newsletter. So TinyContent can't become a core module
