hello

so i have two problems in the admin area

first i have a problem with my template manager,

we made a copy of the orignal template set so we could edit this files easily, that works very well for a long time but now we have the following problem

this error appears when i open the template manager, he began to load and stops at the first modul, but ALL moduls works fine without any problems

and we use the original main.php, so wie never edit this file

my second problem is
we changed our server from a nt based server to a linux based server, and now i cannot install moduls right.

for example here is what XOOPS does when i want to install the "treemenuXL" modul, this is only a example and it happend with other moduls also

i use the german language pack so this is why its in german , in englisch the message "kann nicht im hauptmenü aufgegührt werden" is called something like this "cannot add to main menu"

so i think i did something wrong with the file settings, the attributes, the permission or how that is called

on the old win nt powered server we dont need to set this file permissions, XOOPS always works great without setting them but on the linux server it seem to be important to set the right permissions

hopefully someone can tell me the right permissions for all XOOPS files. and i hope someone can help me also on my first problem

I cannot help with 1) except think that somehow the template is corrupted and thus XOOPS is not able to load it into a template object and hence not able to run a method on it.

2) three folders need writable access by the webserver:
cache
templates_c
uploads

whether it should be CHMOD (access definitions) 666 (writable by both owner, group and others) or 660 (writable by owner and group, but not others) or possibly 600 (writable by owner only) depends on whether the webserver runs as the user, who owns the files, in the same group as the file owner or not.

Similarly the files in the folders should be CHMOD'ed 777, 775 or 755

mainfile.php should be CHMOD'ed 444 after successful installation

i hope someone can also help my on the first problem

maybe is there a way to backup my templateset? and delete it from xoops? maybe there is a bug in my template set

where does XOOPS save the new templateset?

its a very nasty bug that i have with the templatemanager and i hope someone have a idea how i can fix this problem

I would check the database to make sure the table names are correct. When I installed XOOPS on Windows, it translated all the table names to lowercase, which might cause a problem if the database were moved to Linux.

oh thx thats a good idea
but the problem was on the win nt server also but i will check it, so hopefully we could find a solution

where should i look for that? in what database name? and what name is the rigt one? is there any file that says okay you want that templateset so here is the name of it and look into this database table.

is there any way to backup the second template set and to delete it rightly so XOOPS dont even look for it, maybe this is the error

Not sure if it applies. If
you had the phpmyadmin installed
you were using a different set or a set of cloned templates, the default set of templates was not touched

You could manually change the templates back to default by editing the table (prefix)_config - locate "template_set" under "conf_name" and change it to "default"

Hopefully this would get you back to the template manager.
