Okay I realize this is a total Newboob question, but how do I add spaces for formatting in a post in NewBB. For instance, if I wanted to indent a list.

Use the [ code ] tag:

first line
    second line
        third line

I was going to post this link, but that tag seems to have been omitted there: http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=XoopsBBCode

The code tag is intended for situations where you want to preserve the formatting of the text, such as when you're posting PHP code. Just type [ code ]... text ...[ /code ], but leave out the spaces within the brackets [].

okay, cool thanks! I can see how it'll work, but why doesn't newBB just accept any formatting I put in by default? (I know I'm being picky here, but I really don't like the white box around any content entered in the "code" box, and I don't like the font switch that it does either. :() oh well. :(
