How do I remove the hit counter in the FreeContent Block?

I can comment out the call to pull the hits count from the database. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it so the Block doesn't show the "()" too.

So how can I fix it so the Block only shows the link and not the hits count on the article?

edit the templates, find the template for the page which shows hit counter, within that template, find the line that display the hit counter and comment it out
