Hey all,

I appreciate that this question has probably been asked thousands of times and it is pasted all over the site- but I cannot find it.

You upload the new theme for XOOPS in a .tar file, however I have downloaded them as .zip files. How do I convert the themes to .tar files so I can upload them?

Would appreciate it folks & thanks for looking.

I got stuck on the same thing when i made my theme but yeah all you have to do is if you dont have a program that can TAR your files then just look for one you already have, delete the current files it has in it and replace with the template files, save changes, upload and install :)

Hi,

I hope you do understand that themes and templates are 2 different things in XOOPS. Themes are uploaded directly to the themes folder, usually through FTP. Template files are uploaded through the template administration page following a certain format or directory structure.

Go to the wiki for more information about themes and templates. Good luck!
