I just saw http://www.fredck.com/FCKeditor/ on Freshmeat, checked it out and it truely looks good.
Maybe intergrate this in Xoops? Seems to work better then Spaw.
Any comments?

Looks interesting.
Will wait for Mozilla compatibility with anxiety.

1) only if support for other browsers is finished except for the living securityhole aka IE.

2) accessing the demo page made my windows ask for the office CD Rom to install stuff. Hmmmm ....

What about HTMLArea3? It supports IE and Mozilla, which would give us "non-IE" people an alternative.

I've seen people talk about how to hack XOOPS to use it, but have yet to see anyone offer it as the standard editor.

Thoughts?

None of these work with the latest Opera. Personally the standard editor should be very simple and easy to understand where as an optional editor would offer such interesting features that require high end browsers. The FCK and HTMLArea3 editors were extremely slow. Even with the functionality there I would still rather have a simple and fast editor. That's my thought on the whole changing editors.
