Since last april, i've been using PhpBB for my website forum. Yesterday, I decided to move into XOOPS for my website. So, I installed XOOPS verison 2. I used the PhpBB to XOOPS converter that I found on this website. I was able to get the forum categories, topics, and users to transfer over. However, whenever I attempt to read a post, I get a white screen OR the topic screen, with nothing in it. To top it off, everytime I try to create a new topic, the topic body never seems to show up. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Damion

Well, through debugging, I got this error when I attempt to view forums.

Fatal errorCannot pass parameter 4 by reference in /home/virtual/site87/fst/var/www/html/x2/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php on line 256

By noone helping me with this, I can only assume that nonone knows what the problem is. I installed XOOPS 2 with the hopes to launch a new website design that I liked. I do like the way XOOPS is set up and I would really like to get this to work. The forum part of the website IS the most important. I can only hope that someone can help me fix the problems that I've been having.

Thanks,
Koot

How can I uninstall XOOPS so I can attempt to reinstall?

Uninstalling Xoops:

Assuming that you installed XOOPS into its own subdirectory, then simply delete that subdirectory, or at least its contents. Also drop all the XOOPS database tables, using phpMyAdmin or an equivalent method. By default, these tables all have the prefix "xoops_".

I'm not familiar with the phpBB importer, so I can't help with that.

I'm getting the exact same errors

1. Trying to read a topic in the forums when logged in:

Fatal error: Cannot pass parameter 4 by reference in /home/stefijn/public_html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php on line 256

When I read a topic when I'm NOT logged in (aka anonymous) I can get into the topic, but there's no text in the posts

2. Also when posting a topic, I get the same 3 errors you mention above.

However, see here :)

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=15997&forum=21

The patch mentioned in the first post worked for me :)

Later!
