I haven't documented exactly where this happens but certain Admin functions will output garbage text on a white screen after Submiting a change. By accident I tried some admin in a Windows browser (accident I was on Windows, Linus forgive me ),,, and the same function tried to download the admin.php file. This should be a clue and I normally only see this if PHP isn't being parsed by Apache. Of course PHP is working though....

One config that will do this is when giving the final Submit after changing titles or weight in the Modules screen. The action works but I'm dumped to a garbage screen on *nix or offered the admin.php file on Windows. The file it returns is garbage text.

Possibly related is that my Language selection doesn't have any effect anymore. Other change from a week ago was an upgrade of MySQL from 3.x to the latest 4.x. Apache is latest 2.0x, PHP is 4.3.4 with globals off. Linux is custom kernel RH 8. Most things are working pretty good and I'm getting closer to letting it go live.
