using apache 1.3.29 (for netware!), PHP Version 4.2.4-dev for netware, netware 5.1 sp6, remote on same lan MySQL 4.0.15 on linux mandrake 9.

Blank page after install no PHP debug errors, modules will display

installation worked fine, apache\htdocs dir has all rights on all files :
open basedir =

installation added tables succesfully to my database for xoops

installation finished without errors.

starting the index.html returns a XOOPS page with default theme with header and footer and banner.
I never installed XOOPS before so I don't know how it would show up default after install. if I select a module after logging in user.php followed by admin.php (had to type these by hand). the modules show up if i select them to show up on the frontpage.

enabled php debugging option, only notice no errors
no errors in php log file.
For example the links module I can add a Category I can add alink to a site but only the category shows up and tells me it has 2 links but the don't show up!:

polls work ik can vote and retrieve the results.
faq works, links don't work, items are in database XOOPS will not display them.
what is wrong, do I have a problem reading the MySQL database?

any suggestions? I really need to get this running on netware.

The page isn't entirely blank and the debugging option and the php log file don't show an error.

creating a new user in MySQL and editing the manfile.php to reflect the new user settings.

sql user has
Select Insert
Update Delete
Create Drop
Index Alter

rights. the user root was used to create the database.

add the same link of a website in de module links gives me the error:
ERROR: The Link you provided is already in the database!

concluding data get's into the database but cannot be displayed..

UPDATE:

Just installed PHPNUKE on the server in a different directory on the same apache netware server. Creating the database user for phpnuke and running the sql job to insert all tables to the new sql database without a problem.
Index.php with frontpage/toppage is displayed. No problems at all. with this CMS. But would like to use XOOPS.
