I'm still quite new to XOOPS and can't quite get my head aroun coding a theme.

what I would like to know is if I put some images of the sort of thing I'd like to do would someone give me an idea of how to code it?

Most things are done in the theme.html and .css files - theme.html to set the places and styles for blocks + background images etc. and the .css to define the colours and styles.

Take the default theme and just play around with it until you are at home with it
