How hard would it be to add a submit submenue and submit form for the special sections module?

I need this badly as I am using the special section for columnists to submit by category and making everyone admin for that section is risky.

It also needs to have individualized permissions so individuals can only edit and manipulate their own work and not that of others.

The permissions across the board need to be redone as they are very limited and lack flexibility.

This permissions issue is a problematic one especially for sites which want to allow various types of people to contribute content.

here is the XOOPS site I am about to launch live in a few days:
http://www.politicsforum.com/home/

I hope when the permissions issue is resolved in future versions I will be able to upgrade with ease. I have not added any custom modules, it is running the default core features and nothing more.

i'd look around, there's some quality sections/content modules out there, that blow away the default Sections module (default Sections module is essentially the same module found in PHP-Nuke releases... even has the Francisco Burzi copyright, lmfao... ugh)

hhttps://xoops.org/search.php?query=section&mid=21&action=showall&andor=AND << i see several section modules, enhancements, etc, just by doing that search

try using those, see how they work, if you like one and it doesn't meet ALL your needs, it would at least be easier to start with something that already has some features, and build on top of it

Sections has pretty much *no* features, lol, so it would require more work to add in all the features you want

Thanks, I have looked at all the modules available for 2.0 and none of them even come close to what I need. they have all sorts of features I have no use for but NONE have anything I need. :(

even then, you're still likely to be better off starting with one of those modules, lol

dunno tho, these guys are good programmers, they should be able to come up with something for ya

Why would that be? They have absolutely NOTHING I need. I don't get it?

because it's very likely that the Sections code hasn't changed very much from the PHP-Nuke version, it would be better to go with a Sections module that has been more customized for XOOPS specifically

but hey, that's just my personal opinion... i loathe the PHP-Nuke Sections module, lmfao

Well, you are not making any sense here.

I don't care what was coded for what, NONE of those modules have ANYTHING I need, so why would I use them?

omg, just forget it, like i said, personal opinion, i dislike the default sections module, it is essentially the PHP-Nuke sections module, which is crap

i feel it makes more sense to build upon something that is *not* crap, i.e.- any other sections module...

but again, i reiterate, personal opinion
