What is your recommendation on building multiple menus, like the www.xoops.org main page?

I know there are a couple of modules: iMenu and myMenu. But they didn't work well for me.

I know that I can create a custom block.

Just looking for some recommendations . . . and curious how it is done on this site.

I do not know if this site uses custom block or specific modules but I can tell you that my experience with multiMenu module was good
