"New notifications" smarty variable ?

Hi all,is there a smarty variable to use in a block that shows only the new notifications(as the one for new PM's)?
I imagine it would be like this:

<{$block.new_notifications}>

or something not so far.
I hope i was clear.

No, there is no such variable unfortunately.

consider this a suggestion for the next versions;
this could improve a bit themes development,i think.
