Re: extcal 2.27 beta and xoops 2.5.4 errors/issues

Did someone here something from JJDai? Or does someone else have a solution? My website is not working properly and I want to fix it

I am sorry to hear it, but you should NOT install it on your production site - these were "Beta" versions for testing only!

I didn't hear from JJDai in the last week. Hopefully he will provide us with some fixes soon....

It's not a typo. "Deprecation" <> "Depreciation"

Re: extcal 2.27 beta and xoops 2.5.4 errors/issues

Mamba, I did not plan to update my calendar with a beta. But Xoops 2.5.4 decided that my dates where handled differently than before. So I had to update in order to let people insert new events. Ofcourse I (and we) could not foresee that we would have other issues than only the date.

Hoping for a solution in the near future

I'll try to look into this today, time permitting.

Re: extcal 2.27 beta and xoops 2.5.4 errors/issues

I've made some fixes to few problems. It seems to work OK on my English XOOPS 2.5.5 Beta and French XOOPS 2.5.4 installations. Since the calendar changed in 2.5.4, this version probably won't work on anything lower than XOOPS 2.5.4.

Of course, this is still work in progress, and should be tested only on test sites, and NOT on production sites.

Could you please test and let us know if this is going into right direction?

Download: from SourceForge SVN

Some of the fixes:

- you can set visibility of past events in preferences
- English translations improved
- XoopsFormSpin added as part of the download
- links to icons are now correct
- replacing hard-coded date format with _SHORTDATESTRING

On the last one I'll need some feedback. It was originally hard-coded, but I think that extCal should take the format from whatever is defined in _SHORTDATESTRING. This way it will be consistent with the user's configuration.
During installation extCal takes the value of _SHORTDATESTRING and places it in the Preferences, where the user can customize it. But once it is set there, any changes to _SHORTDATESTRING in the global.php won't have any impact on some of the date formats.

Currently there is some inconsistency on where the date format is coming from - in some it is directly from _SHORTDATESTRING, in some it is from Preferences.

Should we make a change that all date formats are from _SHORTDATESTRING, or should they all come from preferences?

Re: extcal 2.27 beta and xoops 2.5.4 errors/issues

Hi everyone, I have xoops 2.5.4 and extcal 2.37 beta (2) and a few problems i'm hoping someone will be able to help with.

1. The text in the tabs at the top are not showing.
2. When I create an event on say 2012/03/26 and put the start time as 7:00am and finish time as 7:10am the event shows up on the "view calendar month" page as 2012/03/25, but the item description shows 2012/03/26 7:00. If I change the time to 16:00 it will show on the "view calendar month" page as correct as 2012/03/26 and the item description shows 2012/03/26 4:00pm

I am not getting any debug errors.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Boogs

Re: extcal 2.27 beta and xoops 2.5.4 errors/issues

Hi Boogs, welcome to XOOPS!

Try to test the XOOPS 2.5.5 Beta and let us know if it's better with it.

The behavior of dates should be now more consistent. Please also note that you can control the formatting of dates in "Preferences".

But I agree that there is some work to be done in extCal to make it even more consistent. Let's see how it works for you with XOOPS 2.5.5 Beta.
