Being able to check on time before expiry of members etc would be useful on the admin side - together with the option to send out standard reminder mails.

Re: Subscription Service Comming

I agree with David, so to sum up:

- Registered users can buy memberships
- It shall be possible to set several memberships to buy
- A membership has a title (for display), a description (to let the user know what (s)he is buying), a subscription period (1,2,3,6,12 months or something), a price (with currency) and one (or more?) group(s), the user will be put in upon payment. These must be configurable through the module administration
- Payment gateways should be modular, so it is possible to easily add others later
- Admin interface should list expired subscriptions (doesn't have to automatically remove them from the privileged group(s), but a button to perform this routine would be good) as well as subscriptions about to expire (module config setting for how to define "about to expire" perhaps?)
- Easy mailing of reminder emails to both expired and almost-expired users would be a plus, but knowing XOOPS' limitations when it comes to mass-mailing, it is not a show-stopper for me

For some reason that link isnt working. If you go tohttp://www.britanniatrophies.co.uk and then scroll down the page you will find xoops.doc. Open that and that is the document.

Many thanks

Re: Subscription Service Comming

Worked fine for me.

It looks good enough. As mentioned I see no reason to have the registration process interfere with this, but it is something I can change afterwards.

You have my support with this specification.

Gentlemen,
I do not completely agree with such approach. Or, as it seems to me, we are talking for a different thing.

I (still) feel that XOOPS can be used as professional tool and not only as MP3, Video, JPG or whatever selling tool.

What is missing and I am willing to contribute, is a serious subscription system for use by (hundreds or thousands I guess) Clubs (professional, scientific, you name it) that exist around the world and need such a tool.

Below please find my approach (in short):

Quote:

Title: Registration procedure for Club Members using XOOPS

3 main Levels of Users (minimum)

A. Anonymous Users: As is (with minimum access to specific modules)
B. Site Members: No subscription. Access to more modules.
C. Club Members: Subscription Required. Full access (as Registered Members?)
C1. Normal Club Members
C2. Club Members of Honor. Same as Normal Club Members, without subscription obligation. Subscription must have duration (1 – 2 … years, infinite). Club Members of Honor may have a minor restriction on specific modules.

Access of all levels of users can be defined by the Group Administration of XOOPS (assigning them to different Groups as usual)

Registration procedure:

When a user wants to subscribe, he/she will use the normal XOOPS procedure (Register now).
After filling the requested data, he/she should be directed to a form (Module like Liaise, Formulaire …) to enter additional data requested by the Club Board in order to confirm his/her qualifications for being the specific Club Member(option for those that do not need it).Data should be kept in the database, not viewable by the public, edited by the user/administrator only.

- IF he/she fulfils the requirements AND is willing to subscribe, THEN he/she is proceeding to the Payment procedure and registration as Club Member.
- IF he does not fulfils the requirements OR he/she is not willing to subscribe, THEN he is proceeding to the registration as Site Member.

At any time in the future, the Site Member should be able to upgrade to Club Member following the Payment procedure.

Subscription should have a time limit by default (usually one year). Before expiration, (one month?), the system sends an informative E-mail and after the expiration of the subscription, downgrade the Club Member to Site Member (a gratis period should be given too).

The payment confirmation should be also done manually (for Countries without PayPol)

.

I believe that this approach can cover what 'cuckston' needs. By combining both we have much more.

Let me know your thoughts AND who else likes to contribute!
I am willing to send 100 Euro for now.

Absolutely useless to me. Customized registration forms with admin-specified fields (required/not required) will be part of XOOPS 2.2.

OK.
We are talking for different things.

As I already have understood, my request can only fulfilled when XOOPS 2.2 will released and be stable.

Anyway, thanks a lot. I can wait until then.

Hi all, Mithrandir has kindly made a large donatation to this project which means that it is all started now for good. The programmer has told me 5-6 days it should be ready. Me and Mithrandir will then do some beta testing and if all goes well, we shall release it out into the public.

This project has not come cheap as i have said in the post before. I have set-up a website which will be the home for the new module. You can find it at http://www.britanniacomputing.co.uk/xoops. Please do register so that we know people are intrested and talk about the project in the forums. Suggest features you would like to see aswell as payment gateways you would like added. At the moment it's just PayPal but as long as more donations come in, we will add more and more.

Please do make a contribution to this project by donating some money. There are two main methods. One is to donate direct through PayPal. You can find the link on the website. The second is to deposit $50 at 888 Casino On Net (MAKE SURE YOU GO THROUGH OUR BANNERS THOUGH!). For every $50 deposited, we will be given $100!

Many thanks!
