I thought you had to clone a template in order to edit it?!

Shall I just delete it and edit the files directly through an ftp prog?

there's no cache set for any modules currently - so I think that should be ok...

I've just tested this on a site, and date is off.

Clone your template set, make sure the Cloned template is the one used. Set this in Preferences - General Settings -- Default template set ----> to your cloned.

I've taken out the references as stated earlier in the thread and the date don't show.

Well that's even more bizarre?!

Can I check:
-are you using Smartsection 1.05?
-the date has disappeared from the 'recent items block' not from the article itself?

If the above is true - could you possibly tell me EXACTLY what you did - ie not just delete this line - did you use ftp prog or template editor, which lines exactly did you take out, did you clear cache/templates_c, does this work on all themes?
