Maybe you can compare and see if there are things to pick up.

Sure, absolutely! Maybe he'll be willing to join the development team?

I hope there is someone who would update this module, maybe I can help with the tutorial.

What kind of update are you looking for? Just to make it work on PHP 5.4?

The main problem I have is the pedigree menu.
When activated it changes the colour, placement and size.
See my testsite:

Admin-1

As you can see it is centered, light colours, after logging in things change.

I can't find how to solve this.

mizzsylver, in administration you have this :

Quote:
mysql minimum version required: 5.0.7 (your version is 4.1.21-standard-log)

when I go to "Pedigree »» Preferences", I have 2 errors :

modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=showmod&mod=6

Warningconstant() [function.constant]: Couldn't find constant language option children in file /modules/system/admin/preferences/main.php line 284

Warningconstant() [function.constant]: Couldn't find constant _MI_COLOUR in file /modules/system/admin/preferences/main.php line 284

Thank you for having given us this test site, that made us save time

I have the same issues at my testsite. I tried it with zetagenisis and the default xoops theme, in both cases it dominates the site theme by changing colours.

For making this a real xoops module I would prefer to make the whole menu part of the standard xoops menu. Collapsing all option when entering the module.

The menu block is nice but size it too big to be used in most xoops themes... You have to build your own custom theme to fit it in nicely...

The problem is that the menu is in a block. This make is flexible, but it makes it more depending on the theme's CSS. I'll try to add the menu items to the regular menu. Or we'll have to look to add custom CSS to the block, but I am not a CSS expert, so we'll help from somebody else.

I've added the menu items to the Main Menu, and fixed the two Handler issues.

Re-download the zip file again from SourceForge or from SVN.

Again, this version is just testing and playing around, so don't deploy it on a production site. And feel free to fix any errors I might have introduced there.

I was able to find the missing help file docs/pedigree_admin.html, which is cited in the file xoops_version.php

See attached file

They should show up, when you click on the "Pedigree" menu item.
