yes I have definately given myself permissions (and as a trial I gave everyone permission for everyone to see if that worked).

I now know the problem isn't how to unlock topics? I cant see the icons for anything on the cbb page including the ticks down the bottom or the icon explanation or most importantly the post new or creat new topic icons.

my problem is somehow related to this.

the guy is nothing short of a freaking legend if you ask me. I made this change all good no problems any more.
