I'm testing 5000 cats and 50000 articles now,
I can't even open permission page to set up 5000 categories, it is crazy.

Anyway, I've managed to speed up the items page, using around 10mb memory/0,7sec.
Index and category page will be slow when using default settings(showing last item by category)using around 15mb memory/12sec.

Hm.. 15mb is ok, but 12 secs... it's very slow.

I've tried with latest publisher and on category page with enabled showing last articles my whole computer crashed. Previous I made memory limit to 4000M.

I wish i could find some time to test publisher. I think it can handle contents better than any other modules.

currently we dont have any good stable content module in xoops and releasing an advance stable content module for xoops 2.5.5 has the highest priority.
about group permission IMO all developers should use "XoopsGroupPermHandler" core class.
5000 categories are really high to set permissions.
I faced other issues when number of categories/groups are high.

Please take a look at this topic if you have some time. we need your advise. specially IMO we should use newbb image customization method in xoops core in 2.6

I've found another bug.

In preferences > Item page > Other articles display type when it's set to All articles the variable <{$item.itemurl}> does not work/show. Options none and prev/next shows it.

I found a memory usage bottleneck in the method getLastPublishedByCat();
It was loading one item by cat not regarding permissions or pagination. If you had 3000 categories, it would load 3000 items even if you were listing only 15 cats.

This is now fixed on latest svn. Please test it.

Do you have write permissions on uploads folder?
I did not tested under linux.

Hi all and sorry i jump to your thread

First, glad to see you find time to help us @trabis!!!

To that last point, some of our servers runs under user mode, so they did not need (we can modify manual if we need or want) permission (chmod) to that folder. But if we set 777 to the upload folder (it is in that case), the content folder will not create automatically. If i remember right, is the content folder only for the wrap html files, or? The problem is, the user cannot define or set a upload path in the admin section of the modul. For you to know, the user did not use the last version from the svn.

That the point i jump to your thread. The users they work with the publisher modul cannot work with tortoise. If you, dear trabis or anyone able to copy it to the module repository on sourceforge? So we can help to test the latest versions of the module.

use a program eg like
