Did you run the Upgrade?

Do you have the right PHP version? You should have minimum PHP 5.2

i go to mywebsite.com/upgrade/ > log in > whit page with debug infos, nothing else.

It's possible that you did follow the instructions with the Protector, in case you have it, or there is an old module that is not compatible.

If you have access to something like phpMyAdmin, find the table "modules" and set for all modules except the "system" module the value for "isactive" to 0, and then try again.

Do the upgrade, and if it works, then go to Admin, and activate the modules one by one, and after each activation, check the front if it works. Once you figure out which module was causing problems, you can update it to the latest version. Well, you should update all of them.

I've tried this. But it doesn't work. Same things.

I have get bak and updated from 2.0.15 to 2.0.18.2 with files on SF.net.

But when trying to update to 2.3, i have this error on /upgrade/ :
This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:

Error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir 'XOOPS_VAR_PATH/caches/smarty_compile' does not exist, or is not a directory.

I have followed the instructions in readme.txt from xoops-2.3 packages on SF.net (same as written in the PDF Guide).

I have no idea...

PS : 2.3 is introducing xoops_lib/data

Copy content of /xoops_lib to your current "trust path".
And copy /xoops_data to your XOOPS folder.

Make sure these folders are reflected in your mainfile.php (see page 31 of your XOOPS Installation Guide)

I just upgraded http://themes.txmodxoops.org, I have no modules installed in this space, but as we see it works well on the user side

Hi,

last night and today, i've applied patches from 2.0.15 to 2.4.0 manually, one by one. Now i'm woth 2.4.0 and it seems working (2.4 appears to work fine on PHP 5.4).
I'm continuing to update Xoops until 2.5.6. If i have errors, i'll tell you there.

PS : after googling my error, i've just added
define( 'XOOPS_VAR_PATH', '/home/path/to/xoops_data' );
to my mainfile.php and i've been able to update.

But there is an error with the SQL resquest to update from 2.0.18 to 2.3.0 (error near to type=MyISAM) with MySQL 5.5.

That's common with the new version of xoops. It has to do with updated php versions I think

do a search and replace in all your mysql files, before you install the module

replace

type=MyISAM

with

ENGINE=MyISAM

Once you update type=MyISAM to ENGINE=MyISAM, as Chefry suggested, you can now upgrade directly to XOOPS 2.5.6 - just follow the instructions...
