.. BTW, when we will have the ability to multisite XOOPS without hacking (I don't remember this as a feature of the 2.3 branch..)?

Thank you for the new release. Quesstion: what's the best way to get this working for setting up multiple sites on a development machine - on localhost?

Hallo!

By any chance did someone try it out with the newer version of XOOPS i.e.2.2.4? Does it work?

The newest XOOPS version is 2.0.15, not 2.2.4

The hack should work in the 2.2.x version.. but you should do it your self changing the code in each site. The packed hack is fpr 2.0.15 (the actual newest version)

A comment: The last version... since yesterday shouldn t be 2.0.16??? what happened with the release???

I would imagine that the release is been held for additional checking... I'd rather have a delay if it means the developers are happier

Hallo Mr Gustavo Pilla!

I have heard that this hack of MultiX would also work for 2.2.4 / 2.2.5?!

My Question:

Why is the $multix_site[$siteUrl[1]]["id"] file based and not mysql?

In this regards I did place a feature request @ sourgeforge (U=xoops_gold)!

My vision of multisite is as follows:

The best is to have $sitegroups, $lang, $siteID and $catID as fields in some of the most important tables.

Further the sidetrack you did by hacks of the mailfile placing into a folder could be further developed to a MySQL solution.

What do you think?

You are right.. the hack can be implemented in XOOPS 2.2.x , ( as a comment... i started the development of the hack with the 2.2.x branch... later i adopted the 2.0.x)... you just have to search in the 2.0.x hacked files the tags and implement the code between the tags in the 2.2.x files...

I will try to finish a full installable XOOPS + MultiX Pack in 2.0.16 and in a 2.2.x ...

About your idea about how multisite implemetation... your idea is perfectly right ( in my opinion ) ... but the idea of my hack is to change as less as posible of the core and let the modules work as if they are in a normal XOOPS installation ... in your case maybe i should change the modules too...

Now i dont remember why i started the implementation of the multisite configuration in a file based way instead of MySQL way , maybe to dont make a conecction and later change it with another one, you must know that it started just with a way to interchange mainfiles... and later i included the feature of sharing databases.

Luck!... and i will work in a Database Based MultiSite
