Let us know which modules don't work and why they are necessary for you and the working of your website?

Please consider updating the original MyLinks module. This module has served as the basic template for many of our Directory type modules. Recoding MyLinks for 2.3 and XoopsObject would provide an example on how to update many of our older modules.

Thanks for leading the module redevelopment initiative!

This module will be part of the 'Move to Blue' and expect it within the week :)

I can work on persian translation .
I can write doc just in persian ( my english is so bad ). and if you need help i can help you for test modules

you can find persian translation from here
http://xoopspersian.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/xoopspersian/

Excellent news thanks :)

We will be putting these new modules in a up to date module repository very shortly, so if you want to do translations etc, you can go straight to the source instead of waiting for us to release them.

Catz.

Since the discussion is about updating modules for XOOPS 2.3 compatibility and more features, I will just like to add that a lot of modules have the "email this" feature which takes the visitors to there email program like outlook to email the page or listings as the case may be, which is sort of irritating for a lot of people and also not everyone has the email client configured on there pcs. It will be far better if the email this would use the tell a friend module or the core could have such a feature.

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. Its a sort of a feature request for all the modules that are being developed and updated.

I have no idea about coding but will surely help with testing the modules.

While Catzwolf is absent, it doesn't mean that "Blue Move" is not important. I still would like to encourage developers to take on this challenge, so we could have our "XOOPS Classic Pack" done.

While some of the modules have been started to work on, they didn't get very far (except Partners):

Others are: Mylinks, Sections, Headline, Mydownloads.

All of them should be on SVN:

Any takers?

That would be fantastic!!! Thanks!

Please see if you can refactor it, so it takes advantage of the new XOOPS features.

Definitely... looking at the source now. Catz get's the tidiest programmer award for syntax and coding style!

Are there any tools that can help in this work, i.e. to check PHP code for compatibility with PHP 5(.3) and SQL code for compatibility with MySQL 5?

It depends on your development environment. The best way to test for a specific version of PHP and MySQL is to use those specific versions.

A good PHP editor or IDE will have the ability validate and debug code for specific versions. With Zend Studio you can pick project specific PHP versions for both the PHP interpreter and executable. I am sure other IDEs offer this functionality as well.
