That's a good plan.

But if you are using 2.2.x - I would upgrade to 2.2.5 as soon as you're happy to, as several issues that people have had problems with have been sorted on this.

(Standard warnings about backups of site & database etc apply of course )

I must say from my point of view this is a subjective issue, I know php experts relay on pure data facts but since i don't qualify as a php expert...I don't.

I've been using 2.2.x ever since was released had NO problems howsoever, I've reinstalled the site 3 times from scratch due to changing host and every single time i did with a fresh installation and a migrated database all went well every time, no blank page no black page no pink page juuust the good (read best) XOOPS CMS generated pages .

In the end it's all based on luck for some the version works flawlessly for some it doesn't and i know an equally number of people from both sides.My site has about 1year and few months since is working well under 2.2.x

Now I would NEVER suggest that one should gamble with a site especially at this issue as its very hard to get support on 2.2.x if something goes wrong. Almost every regional support site has a statement about not giving 2.2.x support, along with that most of the latest released modules DO NOT go well with 2.2.x.

In the mean time i will wait in my corner for the 2.4 version

Well after seeing it my self on sourceforge, then on here thought would try 2.2.5 update from 2.0.15 with all the many modules...it worked first time on wamp...so me like except for understanding where the settings were in new admin ....so then upgraded site 1st time no problems... so far so good!

2.2.5 is purely meant for users of 2.2.4

Just to clarify... this is an update for users of 2.2.4 only.

If you use 2.0.x ... update to 2.0.15 and do not update to 2.2.5
