myswebsite.com/tmp/ is set at 755, according to what I see via my ftp client.

I'm also unable to change this folder's permissions setting from my end, so it must be a restriction set by my webhost.

That could be a problem when trying to save session data as ony the owner has write permissions to your tmp directory. Looks like they've set it up for scripts as groups and other only have read and execute.

My host changed the setting and this seemed to fix the problem. Thank you!

So session data is now being written to your tmp directory? I still seem to be getting logged out which is weird then . I was hoping that would have fixed the problem.

Well, maybe it didn't work then...? Sorry, with the amount of users on the site this evening, I just assumed it worked. Then again, no one has complained about or notified me of the problem (other than what you're experiencing). I'm lost. ???

Actually, the only time I've tried accessing your site is at work which goes through a proxy server. I'll try again tonight at home which is a direct connection. Not hugely confident that will be it though as I'd be having trouble with othersites if that were the case. Do you think it is worth asking your users if they have experienced any logout issues? Do you want to just make double sure that my user account is intact properly (group membership, etc)?

brash,

I checked your user account and all seems well...You're definitely in the registered users list, active, etc.

I sent an email out (you'll probably get one) inquiring about the problem. We'll see what happens next I guess.

Thanks.

PS I have a user online right now who just joined today and he's doing okay so far.

Much thanks to brash for finding the solution to fixing the log-in problems we were having. Sorry about that...silly me.

Please have a look at our new XOOPS site and give us your feedback:

Thank you.
