function, i understand your laziness, which is why i either:
a. ssh into my webserver, and use wget to download the package directly, and then untar/unzip as needed
OR
b. use my web control panel's filemanager to download the file and decompress (unzip/untar)





i would assume you have ssh if you have cvs access to a server, hehe, ya might wanna look into wget
