Do you have two web hosting accounts with that service provider?

Are the domains supposed to be completely separate, each with its own distinct web space and MySQL database(s)? Or is one of them a subdomain or addon domain that points to a subdirectory within the other domain?

hey Dave_L,

same provider, separate and distinct domains, control panel, etc., thats why it is a mystery.

both data bases work fine in terms of updating etc., its just that i can only access the original datebase for editing purposes.

my isp to this point has not been able to correct this issue

Does that mean that your ISP agrees that you're supposed to have distinct MySQL databases for the two domains, and doesn't know how to fix the problem?

This looks like a server configuration issue, and you may have no choice but to work through the ISP on this.

Edit

Can you install your own copy of phpMyAdmin on each domain? I generally do that, rather than accessing phpMyAdmin though Cpanel, so that I can configure phpMyAdmin as I like.

hey Dave_L,

yes they agree, and claim that everything is fine on their end. yet, its not on my end of course (i had once reported this issue a few days ago and for a while all was fine, but then disappeared again).

i thought you guys could help me out as i am sure the experience level in this forum is not matched by my isp.

thanks a lot guys for your input!

Maybe the ISP copied one domain's phpmyadmin setting for the other?

If you can't sort it out with your ISP, you may want to install your own copy of phpmyadmin in a web sub directory.
