My point is that the XOOPS cache system (or rather - Smarty) saves the output of a page as pure HTML for the specified time.

E.g. the front page of xoops.org is cached, which is why, when I post this, it'll take a few minutes before it shows up on the front page.

Hence my enthusiasm for comparing with HTML
