I have installed an instance of newbb 2.02 on my site. The categories and forums are separated by complicated access rights including several different groups, each being allowed to read and write in different parts of the forum.
Some users activated notifications in this forum, when a new thread is started or an answer is submitted. Some of those users got email-notifications, when a topic was entered in a forum, for which they did not have access rights.
I.e. user A activated to be notified when a new thread is started. User A only has access rights to Forum F. User B does not have access rights to forum F, but to forum G. There, user B started a thread T. The result was that user A got a notification, althoug he has no access rights in the forum G where the thread was started.
I checked the configuration, but could not find anything that might deactivate the described behaviour. I would want my users to only get a notification, when they have appropriate access rights.
Can anyone help me?
