Is XOOPS compatible with my existing web host?
XOOPS requires the following:

. A Webserver - Apache or IIS are the most commonly used
. PHP version 4.1.0 or higher
. MySQL version 3.23 or higher
. The privileges to set read/write permissions on files and folders

If you have the above requirements met with your webhost, you will be able to install XOOPS.

Note: A user has reported a problem with MySQL 3.23.49a-MAX. You will likely have difficulties with this version.
