As phppp has asked me to explore some of the older modules as a core developer, I have re-written the Content module so it falls in line with code standardisation as well as XOOPS Code protocol. It has been completely rewritten as well as a concession of other features added in. Now with the content module this has been renamed to X-Center as it is the center of your website. There is a new XML Power Block which will allow you to write and clone multiple blocks that scan other areas of your database for content in pertenance to the data in the article.

This means that you can have blocks in multiple places that are constantly changing based on various content types in the system, this off course with Search Engines the more you site expands and is used, mean you have a higher SEO rank cause your pages are reflecting a higher change in the system page impressions.

The X-Center is and will remain quiet popular as I have had many enquires about the content module so I have revamped it and released it to you.

Hi

I get this error when trying to install the module:
Column length too big for column 'summary' (max = 255); use BLOB instead

Sure replace the mysql.sql file in /xcenter/sql with this one.. It is that you are not using Mysql 5.x as it is more extensible and has proper varchar fields.

You will see in the one you have now there is this sort of fields : summary varchar(560) NOT NULL default '', - this is not supported in MySQL 4.x

No errors on that.

im not quite getting it.
I see just a couple additional settings to do when creating a page
but i dont really understand whats so much different then the last one.

Currently i use CONTENT 0.5

is there something about new block views or anything ?

Hi yeah content needed updating for 2.3, it was also unstandardised code, which means it wasn't using the XOOPS code standards..

Now it is, also the addition block is an XML programmable block, so you can clone it in 2.3 blocks management. as this is the case the block can be related to an article and other modules in relation to the XML document that populates it for example for various keywords and record identifiers. I will expand it later to include a keywords selection XML document, so you can have a great parse.

The purpose of that block is so if you used content to center your flow of information on your website, you can place blocks around the system that have the ability to 'scan' other area's of the database ie. Forum in relation to the document. and as topics containing the keywords come up the block revolves (this also means that on a busy site your block change each time a search engine passes, improves your SEO Advantage in the % of page difference).

Also some of the fields in content where incorrectly named for example there was a block_id which should have been weight.

This XML Powered block is a functional block, it is more programmable.

Anyway, yes the block can be very easily clonable -> it should from memory be just changing the xxx_DIR_NAME enumerator in the langauge file to the new directory (this is if you don't want to change database PREFIX).. for example change:


define("xxx_DIR_NAME","xcenter")



to



define("xxx_DIR_NAME","sciptfuthahottie")



and rename /modules/xcenter/ to /modules/sciptfuthahottie/

I tried this mod and looks great.

- I could not get editor of choice to be set as default.

- I could not get an item to be added to the main menu (if I did not misunderstood you should be able to added article titles to the main menu, I I know mastop publish module does this but the mod is not fully supported-maintained)
- I have other ideas just need to put them together.

- I use php 5

I have a problem with xcenter module. Everything works OK till I turn off "seeing of the x-ceter module" in the site menu block to see only prepared concent sites. No prepared sites are seen then in block and some errors appear. Does anyone know how to make it works properly?

try you do, make the module in menu invisible, must you change the modules weight to 0.. to be one with the modules concentrative force of menu position.

The modules weight is 0 but still such an error appears:

lol script fu, I haven't really ever smoked weed, and my msn is someone elses impression

Hi all how are you, this is a core issue not an issue with the application,
the formselecteditor.php does not have a argument for the extra but also has a fault.
the remmed out lines are in error

To Fix this in the core here is how you do it, see it is using an none standardised
form of Java which ensures you can have no use in the western world or anywhere else..

From line 51 of XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/class/xoopsform/formselecteditor.php you will have to
alter it like so..
