XOOPS Council official requests

In reply to this article, here is the XOOPS Foundation official response.

1. Hand over XOOPS Project servers to the XOOPS Project Council then managed by the XOOPS Technical Group.

The Foundation has already initiated the discussions about this with the Chairman of the XOOPS Council concerning their exact requirements and is confident we will find a solution that is mutually beneficial shortly.

2. Give full access to usage of domains that claimed by the Foundation to be used for the XOOPS Project, including the DNS of xoops.org

Selected domains are available for both Community or Project usage, upon suitable request, and depending upon availability.

As for the XOOPS.org domain name, it is well documented that this domain is still owned by M. Onokazu. He was contacted at many times in the past by the Foundation and by the XOOPS Council. No one never received any answers. Currently, the XOOPS.org domain is pointing on the current XOOPS.org server’s DNS which are controlled by EPC USA. When XOOPS.org is completely moved on the new server, we will be able to change the information on EPC USA DNS.

3. A clear statement of the Foundation’s organization and its membership

This information can be found on the Foundation web site. Two FAQ’s are also answering this.

4. Clarification its role and position in the Open Source Project of XOOPS

This information is published in the XOOPS Foundation Manifseto.

5. Publish a financial report with balance sheet, a profit/loss statement and cash flow statement.

The 2006 reports is available on the Foundation web site. The 2007 report will be publish in january 2008, when the current year is completed.

6. About XOOPS.COM domain

XOOPS.COM is privately owned and paid for by Herko Coomans and is currently redirecting at XOOPS.ORG. The domain is currently not used for any communications among the Project, the Community nor the Foundation. While their is no obligation for anyone to donate any private property to the Foundation, Herko Coomans has guarantee the XOOPS Council that he shall donate this domain to the Foundation if and when M. Onokazu donates XOOPS.org to the Foundation.

If any additional clarification is needed, the Council is welcomed to contact us directly at board at xoopsfoundation dot org – or by the Contact forms at the XOOPS Foundation website.

In conclusion, we truly wish the Project, the Community and the Foundation can work together towards improving XOOPS. We are happy of the progress made in the last few weeks about making public the Foundation information. We are also very pleased with the discussions started lately with the XOOPS Council. We truly hope that publishing news on XOOPS.org as a way of communicating will end today. From now on, we wish that any announcement made on XOOPS.org and the Communities sites will only contain great news about the Project and the Community !

As the original request for this information was forwarded to Herko by personal email, Phppp has been forwarded the required information.
