What is recommended , the Mult XOOPS installation or the Multi Site Module?

Any info here would be appreciated.

The module.

The direction forward is a module, because this way it doesn't touch the core, so there are less chances to break something. As they say: "If aint't broken, don't fix it"

 Re: Multisite Module 1.18

Ok, I have tried this module on two separate sites running XOOPS 2.3.3 and it does not seem to work. I am getting no options to edit the domain options such as template, name, start up module etc. Where as I have managed to get the multi XOOPS beta to work fine. Has anyone managed to get this working?

 Re: Multisite Module 1.18

Hello,

I just setup a new 2.3.3 XOOPS site to try your module, since this is, what I was looking for. Editing the features is working at my site, but I can not see the effect. I made the hacks to the mainfile.php, as described elsewhere, but that doesn't help. The system settings for themes, blocks, preferences ... are working exactly the way they do in normal xoops. Settings for the second domain are ignored!

Are there any more hacks to get the module working ? I didn't find any other doc or howto, so I am asking here. Would be glad for a respond

 Re: Multisite Module 1.18

hi how are you dr-no. I have been talking to phppp and he will be starting a new branch for multisite module inclusion into the XOOPS distro..

I will be when I get back from my honeymoon writting the module into the secondary and kernel like profile module is for a solution to the need of hacks..

There are quiet a few changes involved and maybe a new function to handle the interaction between the config class and the domains class.. for the configuration manipulation.

Should be out friday fornight..

Hello wishcraft,

thanks for your respond, and I wish you a very, very lucky honeymoon (cause that are the things that really matter )

The timeline is totally OK for me. I can provide some work also. At least beta testing. If I get to know what`s going on inside the module, I can do some programming changes also.

I am running a test site using:

XOOPS Version - XOOPS 2.3.3
PHP Version - 5.1.4-Debian-0.1~sarge1
MySQL Version - 5.0.51a-3ubuntu5.4
Server API Version - cgi-fcgi
OS Version - Linux

safe_mode - Off
register_globals - Off
magic_quotes_gpc - On
allow_url_fopen - On
fsockopen - On
allow_call_time_pass_reference - On
post_max_size - 8M
max_input_time - 60
output_buffering -
max_execution_time - 60
memory_limit -
file_uploads - On
upload_max_filesize - 10M

 Re: Multisite Module 1.20

I have testet the multisite module with xoops-2.3.2b ...

1. When i will update the 'System Module', i become the follow error message:

Quote:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method XoopsTpl::clearCache() in /path/modules/multisite/admin/modulesadmin/main.php on line 275

2. When i like to show the subdomain, i can't login ...

3. Is the module compatible with future XOOPS Versions?
