New fields added: address2, country, fax, and email as well as a link to yahoo maps for every listing.
xDirectory is a yellow pages/business directory module based on the webLinks core module. It features multiple categories and sub-categories, address, city, state, zip, and phone listings. It includes a place for website but only activated if a website address is in the DB. This is a Beta version and should only be used for testing right now. The final release will include category sponsorship which will enable you to give a listing a high-profile spot at the top of their category.
UPDATE: There was a problem with the old SQL file containing wrong table names. This has been fixed and is now included in the current zip file.
If you would like to fix the problem with a current install simply remove the prefix "spoox_" from the table names and voila!

"xdirectory review" Using xdirectory with 2.0.7.3 and it works. This is a handy little module to have that will list information such as phone numbers, and contacts of businesses. The module allows users to submit thier own listings, and there is an ability to "upgrade" thier listing by making them a page sponser. The really neat thing about this module is the "Map" button. When clicked a yahoo map of the address for the listing will appear. That can come in very handy. There are a few things I don't like about this module: The lack of integration with the xoops image manager really sucks, there may be reasons for that, but I've found its handy to have all the images in one place. It would also be nice to have some of the options displayed configurable. (For example, remove the "rate this resource, the "new", updated tags...things like that. You can always just take them out of the template file, but Im all about convenience. If I could get one thing added, and this is probably easy to do if you know a little about coding, would be to also display the Business weblink along with the address and phone number information. Anyhow, its a clean mod, for the functionality that is available, it works very well. |
