We've created a MMS interface into the XOOPS portal. Currently this is tested with the MMS messages from T-Mobile in Holland, and succesfull tests have been done with MMS messages from Vodafone (this will be implemented shortly). You can post messages to XOOPS by sending the MMS to a specific email adres. The interface will then upload the MMS to XOOPS. You can test this by sending an MMS to rogier@fotomobiel.nl and check the result athttp://portal.tequila.fortytwo.nl/ .

Work on the new Xoops Developers Site is well on the way and as things progress we will be asking all who are interested for participation in one way or another, at the moment we are compiling a list of partners to be used as support sites in our Partner List.
Everyone is now probably aware that I have decided to 'centralize' module development for the good of Xoops, there are many talented developers out there working on their own and the Xoops community would benefit from such a project.
I would like to propose that each one of you (module developers) can work as part of the module development team and this could improve your development and writing skills.
I think everyone would agree with my point that one thing Xoops v2 lacks is 'Modules'. I know that compared to the other CMS out there Xoops v2 is new and with all things new, it does take time for things to 'grow'. But in saying that it sometimes doesn't help giving things a 'slight push' now and then.
Hopefully this is what this post is about to do right now.
Many new Xoops users and some old are put off due to the lack of modules within Xoops v2 and this needs to be addressed quickly and could be done quite easily or just let to each single module dev on there own.
"Dev-PHP is a full-featured integrated development environment (IDE), which is able to create scripts and applications using the PHP scripting language and the PHP-GTK library (both included in the "PHP Package"). Dev-PHP is free software under the GNU General Public License, which means you can freely modify or use the source code under the terms of the license. "
Have not really spent much time using this yet, but at first glance seems very nice.
Hello, all. Just a sharing note. This weekend, I had a need for a script that could quickly parse files from a PHP-scripted application for an article I'm working on into a tree for viewing and analysis purposes. Consequently, I downloaded and installed a SourceForge project called PHPXref.
Bug fix: bad_user_name setting in "User Info Settings"
The bug is: In the "User Info Settings", there is a setting named "Enter names that should not be selected as username", but this function doesn't work.
How to fix it: Edit the file /register.php, go to line 83, and change "bad_emails" to "bad_unames".
(You may possibly worry about the Email verification, well, just set your heart at rest, the Email verification code is the lines begin from line 50.)
Recently switching to Xoops, I soon found that to develop a module was a little bit difficult for the new Xoops develop due to a lack of a simple How To. I managed to read the source code and after some time make my own module work.
So that you don't have to learn the hard way, I created a simple module howto. The module is called Greeter, and it's purpose is to greet! It does nothing more than that. But you are taken step by step through the creation of the module and in the end, you have the basis for any module you wish.
