Dutch trauma nursing site launches!

Well, it took a few posts and a lot of puzzling, but he's online. The new site from the Dutch Foundation on Trauma Nursing!

There are a few articles to add, and some older news items. After that I plan to implement a photo gallery module, but for this moment I am satisfied.

Thanks to all the XOOPSers that helped me out on the forums, and the folks who made the user and install guides!!

Criollo's web site now XOOPS powered !

We are proud to inform you that XOOPS now has Yet Another Web Site : Cricricriollo.com is the official web site of Criollo, an hispano-american band offering original music that could trully revolutionize Spanish Urban music across the globe.

xcGallery RC 1.1 Hack 1.2

CHANGES
-------

1. Adds Movie support to xcGallery
Predefined thumbnails are used for movie files.

2. It is possible to store thumbnails under separate albums/thumbnails directory.
Thumbnails directory name is configurable. If thumbnails directory is not specified,
thumbnails will be stored in the same directory as original pictures.

3. If you don't want to store albums and pictures into the XOOPS directory tree under
modules/xcGal/albums, it is possible to specify alternative real path to albums
directory in xcGal configuration.
In this case Alias should be deffined in Appache configuration,
that maps relative albums path to real albums path

Alias /modules/xcgal/albums "E:/FTP/albums"

UPGRADE
-------

Copy files over original xcGal RC 1.1 files.

After copying module files, need to run Update xcGal Module in XOOPS Modules Admin.
xcGal version will be changed to 1.2.

Amaranth Productions - Adventure/RPG game site up!

I wanted to let all of the adventure gamers out there know that Amaranth Productions, built on Xoops technology, is up and running. The site has a friendly fantasy atmosphere with free games that I've made. It also has a bustling forum for people who like to play and make games.

This site is a good example for anyone who wants to see a creative way to customize your portal so that it looks like a non-portal website with all of the portal bells and whistles.

Avatar Tutorial Using flash (for entry level users)

I've noticed from several posts on the forum that people want to know how to add multiple avatars to their websites without manually inputting from the Xoops admin page. Mikhail has created a download of 342 avatars and an sql database file to accompish this, but using phpMyadmin can be quite daunting for newbie users. Developers, do you remember the first time you visited phpMyadmin and said "oh! sh*t this looks complex" and made a fast exit? Maybe not, but inexperienced users are rightly concerned about using database interventions without knowing what they are doing and find the php manual over complex for basic tasks.

Shoutbox 3.0 RC1

After having halted the development of the shoutbox for over 2 years, I thought it was time to develop a new version, that works completely on the XOOPS 2.0.x series.

The module is based on the original shoutbox of Alphalogic, who developed the original (e-xoops) version. The code has been rewritten completely tough...

xcGallery RC 1.1 Hack

xcGallery RC 1.1 Hack

1. Adds Movie support to xcGallery
When posting AVI movies, it checks for THM file with the same name, to use as thumbnail for AVI file. If no THM file is found, predefined thumbnails are used.

2. Stores thumbnails under separate albums/thumbnails directory. Directory structure in thumbnails directory is the same as in albums directory.

Netquery 1.2 Adds HTTP Requests

Netquery version 1.2 is now available for download from Dev.Xoops or from the author's web site.

This release adds HTTP requests (GET and HEAD) to the Netquery toolkit of network information utilities. The full package now includes Whois lookups, DNS queries, server port checking, HTTP requests, ICMP pings, traceroutes and Looking Glass router interrogation.
