Thank you very much for the release! I've been waiting for it. I've just upgraded from XOOPS 2.0.15 (using the full package). Everything works perfectly, but...

Problem since 2.0.15 remained: blank page when trying to edit "Mail Setup" by accessing <site.url>/modules/system/admin.php?fct=preferences&op=show&confcat_id=6

Upgrade worked great for me.

I am concerned about the resource.db.php issue. I feel certain that it will be updated in the newest versions of the modules which you are referencing.

Otherwise, it went flawlessly.

Actually, I upgraded last pm from the svn. Really cool stuff. I know I shouldn't have but did anyway. Thanks to all the devs.

I upgradedhttp://mywebresource.com/ from 2.0.13.2 > 2.0.16 without any issue. Took about two hours and much of that was backing up my files, custom configuration, and database. Other than that, the upgrade was as smooth as silk.

This latest version seems noticably faster than past versions.

How did you upgrade from 2.0.13.2 to 2.0.16?

I am trying to do the same but couldn't find the upgrade files for 2.0.14, which is supposed to be in devteam.xoops.org. But seems like they are down at the moment.

Can you show me how i can do the upgrade frmo 2.0.13.2 to the latest ?

Updated and upgraded www.xoops.nl. With the 2.0.15-to-2.0.16 (zip) package the upgrade didn't work: no index page in the upgrade folder, and a blank page in the 2.0.15-to-2.0.16 folder in the upgrade folder itself. Then I did a full upgrade using the full package, and it worked.

Yes the files for 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 are indeed currently incomplete. Note that the other files like 2.0.14 to 2.0.16 are complete.

For those updating from 2.0.15 you could still just download the full package of 2.0.16 and use it to upgrade your site.

Instructions are:

1. Move the "upgrade" folder inside the "htdocs" folder (it's been kept out as it's not needed for full installs)
2. Delete htdocs/mainfile.php, and htdocs/install

4. Access <your.site.url>/upgrade/ with a browser
5. Follow the instructions to update your database
6. Delete the upgrade folder

Make especially sure of step 2 so that you don´t overwrite your mainfile.php with the one from the full package

And Don't forget to BACKUP before updating.

On one site I uploaded the whole thing, so had to fish out the mainfile.php from the backup. Easier than re-entering all the info.

And on my second site, tried to upgrade a 2.2 install. What a mess?? couldn't figure out why I was getting a "incorrect Login" error, until I put back the backup and saw it was 2.2. Sheesh.

Almost 3 years using the system and still make n00b mistakes...

Top notch work on updates.

I would very much rather use just the upgrade package. I have quite a few files I hacked and I would be rather displeased to replace them ALL, no matter if the change is required by 2.0.16 or not.
If we get a good upgrade package, where it would be announced?

I am absolutely 300% totally mistified and bewildered. Could someone please simplify the explanation of the files problem. I upgraded using the 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 zip package. The upgrade seemed to go just fine. What am I missing?
In the package I have 6 folders and 3 files. Of course the folders have files too.

tempel33 - this is why you should make notes of hacks you have made.

You can get php comparison utilities ... download your current install, run one of these and make a note of changes you have made.

The update will be corrected later - use Benders fix until then.

It is not so difficult, ALL the information you need is there. Please read Skalpa's excellent instructions (all 3 pages!! first.

The 2.0.15-to-2.0.16.zip upgrade package file is incomplete. Please use ANY of the alternatives (tarballs, or the upgrade/ folder in the root of the full XOOPS 2.0.16 package).

This is just for the upgrade/ folder in said zip file. All other files (the updates XOOPS core files) are there and can be used to update your website.

Please, read carefully before trying to confuse the hell out of people

It kind of happened automatically...confusing. If it is not right i will follow the full upgrade package.

I'm affraid I am still confused. There was talk of files missing etc, images in image folders, and even image folders themselves. I have checked the download for 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 from both the locations I got them from (the download link orginally provided by skalpa and the osdn link provided by jensclass. The two zip files are identical and indeed do have files missing when compared to the 2.0.14 to 2.0.16 upgrade package. For example the 2.0.14 to 2.0.16 package has a few more files and does have images in img folders etc.
I presumed there was a difference because it was supposed to be that way, thinking that the upgrade for 2.0.14 to 2.0.16 would have differences such as more files or changes as opposed to the upgrade package 2.0.15-2.0.16.

I got my upgrade package last night around 10PM EST from skalpa's download link.

Ok lets start at the beginning ...

Last night when XOOPS 2.0.16 was made publicly available the following files were released:

xoops-2.0.15-to-2.0.16.tar.bz2
xoops-2.0.15-to-2.0.16.tar.gz
xoops-2.0.15-to-2.0.16.zip
xoops-2.0.16.tar.bz2
xoops-2.0.16.tar.gz
xoops-2.0.16.zip [/size]

Now three of these archives were missing some files when originally released.
Affected were only the upgrade packages from 2.0.15 to 2.0.16.

xoops-2.0.15-to-2.0.16.zip [/size]

They were missing some files in the folders:

[size=xx-small] \ xoops-2.0.15-to-2.0.16 \ htdocs \ upgrade
\ xoops-2.0.15-to-2.0.16 \ htdocs \ upgrade \img [/size]

So if you were actually trying to start the upgrade according to insctructions by
[size=x-small]3. Access <your.site.url>/upgrade/ with a browser[/size] you would not be able to run it due to the fact that there was no file (index.php) at that folder.

These packages have been replaced but due to the way sourceforge works it can take some time (up to 24 hours) until the replaced uploads are overwritten and replicated to all those mirrors available.

So if you redownload them you can just look into those folders. If the files are present you got the updated archive. If not try another mirror (e.g. the one mentioned before).

Seems the US mirrors are replicated more often. So i would suggest trying one of them.
( Phoenix, AZ - North America for example holds the updated files)

Thank you Bender. It looks like I just got lucky and when I downloaded the 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 zip file it had everything that was actually supposed to be there. So naturally everytime I tried to make heads or tales out of what was being posted I couldn't. Until now!

@avtx30 : for your mail conf page blank page, I too had a problem like yours.

It was due to the fact that our site had "too much" users for the XoopsFormSelectUser form...that is used only in this configuration page (check the "config" table, and you'll see that only this page has "user" value in "conf_formtype" field).

So, to solve this, the proper way would be to replace the XoopsFormSelectUser form by the "custom" one use in the Edit user page (this one uses pagenav to split user list every 200 users, so there's no crash).
I didn't do this myself yet (we simply hardcoded the right value in the table and made the selectuser form disapear, since we hadn't time/need to correct this better), but I think it can be quite easily done.

Sorry not to have reported a bug about that yet, but I wasn't able to reproduce it outside of my job to get more details (it need to have more than 200 users in the site to occur, and I was too lazy to create false ones on my dev sites ;o) )

UPDATE `<prefix>_config` SET `conf_formtype` = 'custom' WHERE `conf_id` = '73' LIMIT 1 ;

There is no need to go to 2.0.14 first - simply follow the instructions to update to 2.0.15

Yes there is.

For example in \modules\system\language\english\admin\preferences.php

I would suggest downloading CSDIFF and running a compare between the htdocs folder of 2.0.15 and 2.0.16. Will give you a quick overview of the changed files and you can easily have a look into them just by doubleclicking to check.

As at 11:40 GMT on 19/11/06 the mirror sites had not been updated (I downloaded an incomplete 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 .zip file).

However, I got a complete .zip file from the Phoenix mirror and the upgrade worked perfectly for me.

Excellent! I have just upgraded one of my three sites straight from 2.0.13.2 to 2.0.16 using the instructions "Upgrading from any XOOPS ranging from 2.0.7 to 2.0.13.2 (using the full package):" and everything has gone like a charm! I really like the look of the new upgrade script and it's usability. Well done.

Im having the same old problem with login using the XOOPS in subfolder...

If im navigating in
http://www.site.com/modules/article/view.article.php/a13
and login in block of login, XOOPS redirect to:
http://www.site.com/xoops/http://www.site.com/xoops/modules/article/view.article.php?article=13&category=3

I will need to hack again to solve this bug.

[EDIT] Ok, for lucky, this is just in module article. Maybe because articles are with simplify url instead the true url...

hmmm... please help. although the upgrade was successful, my xfguestbook module version 2.4a (http://www.gspop.org/modules/xfguestbook/) doesn't work. it didn't display the messages. anybody could help? many thankz!

I am using 2.0.13.2 as well I would lik to know which package did you use 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 or just the 2.0.16?

2- you missing some parts in translation:
2-1- upgrade/language/(langname)
2-2- the XOOPS still not full supported localizing for example images must be overwrite like this:
htdocs/images

Is it necesary to do the upgrade? I use XOOPS 2.0.13.1
I tried and crashed it. I restored a backup, so I'd like to know if it is really unsafe to keep my version.

I used the 2.0.14 to 2.0.16 package, upgraded, and everything is working fine. Well, sort of. For some reason, I and my other admin can't modify user profile information. We can go through the motions, but the changes we make don't end up in the database.

Having to use phpMyAdmin for database changes is a bit of a pain.

Any ideas?

It seems like 2.0.16 breaks the

$myts->makeTboxData4Show

Nothing to do with XOOPS 2.0.16. You probably need to include:

$myts =& MyTextSanitizer::getInstance();

before that hack.

It used to work before with 2.0.13.2 without any problems. The problems started AFTER upgrading to 2.0.16

I did upgrade from 2.0.15 to 2.0.16 using the easy way, the whole process was smooth and took less than 5 minutes. The problem is that i have not noticed any changes in my site. How can i tell that indeed am using the new version and its properly installed? Are there visible changes to point @?

Greetings,

I recently upgraded one of my sites from 2.0.14 to 2.0.16. The upgrade was smooth and easy. I have one problem though that I'm unable to fix thus far - I've a customized menu in my theme that relies on a bit of code that I had (in 2.0.14) inside the header.php file:

$xoopsTpl->assign('in_subscribed_group', in_group('Website subscribers')); 

$xoopsTpl->assign('in_member_group', in_group('PAT Members')); 

$xoopsTpl->assign('in_webmaster_group', in_group('Webmasters'));

After upgrading, I attempted to put the same code back into the header file (which had obviously changed a lot between 2.0.14 and 2.0.16) and after doing so the screen would be blank - no errors, no nothing. So I tried putting the code into some other files, all with the same effect.

I really like my custom menu that this code allows so I'd really appreciate any helpful advice! Is there a place I can locate the above code that will work? Why is it not working with 2.0.16 when it did with 2.0.14?
