Description:

Last version of XF Guestbook in release candidate, with new functionalities, as well as compatibility Php 5 and xoops 2.2.

Modifications compared to XF Guestbook v2.22
- Choices of different pack from images (flags...)
- Addition options anti-Spam: not indexed bonds (nofollow)
- Addition option codes validation: checking that human is signatory
- Modification option for email: necessary, optional or not asked
- New administration
- Upgrade simplified and integrated into the administration

Caution
The function prohibiting the bonds in the message (antispam) does not function correctly:
file corrected sign.zip while waiting for modification of the file.

Warning: the english defines added in this version aren' T translated.

I have updated this module on the rebuild of my site under XOOPS 2.2.3. Some of the language was not translated, so I have done some of them. For some reason in the sign guestbook form it still shows "Pays" instead of "Country", even though language/english/main.php shows:

define("_MD_XFGB_COUNTRY","Country ");

Perhaps someone (the author?) can tell me why this is happening.

I really like this guestbook, by the way, and the verification code is now working. It would not work for me in the last version, but that was under 2.2.1

Did you change _MI_XFGB_COUNTRY in modinfo.php?

How does this work?
Recently I had a lot of spam in my XF Guestbook 2.2

The table showing the number of posts per gender in version 2.30 RC1 is not very useful and is better to be removed.

Seems like this doesn't work. When I try to open the sign-up form, I am getting an error: "failed open file". I am using XOOPS 2.0.13.2

UPDATE: I had to set /cache to 777. In the previous version it was set to 755 and it did work. Now it works.

But the country is still displayed as "Pays"

My website uses a 3 column theme; left, center and right column.
When I click 'Sign guestbook' I get the signform but all blocks in the left and right column are duplicated (block 1, block 2, block 1, block 2).
Other installed modules don't have this problem so I suppose it's a XF-Guestbook 2.30 RC2 bug.

I have checked all the files that come with XF-Guestbook but can't find any explanation for the term 'Pays' in the signform.

I've increased the size of the text field in the submit form.
This can be done in line 68 and 71 of file ..\include\form_sign.inc.php.

 line 68: $signform->addElement(new XoopsFormTextArea(_MD_XFGB_MESSAGE, 'message', $message, [color=CC0000]6, 40[/color]), true); 
line 71: $signform->addElement(new XfgbFormDhtmlTextArea(_MD_XFGB_MESSAGE, 'message', $message, [color=CC0000]6, 40[/color], $option['opt_icon'], $option['opt_font'], $option['opt_sm'] ), true);

I have changed it to 10,60.

Only one remark:
After installation and enabling the option 'Ask validation code' I still get a lot of 'robot'spams in my guestbook. So, there seems to be a backdoor.

Pays (French) is country (English) by Google.

I know what Pays means without the need of using Google.
On the signform it says 'Pays' instead of 'Country'. It's correctly translated in the file /languages/english/main.php but for some reason it keeps saying 'Pays' even when I delete the french language folder.

Did you verify the option 'Nom pour les images (pays, région,...)' in the 'General Settings'?
In my case I had to change 'Pays' to 'Land' (Dutch for Country).

I think that this will solve your 'problem'.

Just installed Mozilla FireFox 1.5 (yes its there) and XF Guestbook RC2 makes a mess out of the columns.
Now I seem to have 4 columns....
Same happens with Firefox 1.0.7 and Netscape 8.0.4.
No problems with Opera, so far...

Got this fixed. I made a typo with commenting out the table showing the amount of post by gender.

After that I upgrade the software to RC2 I received no spam anymore! So, it looks like this is the solution for this annoying problem!

The Cancel button of the Sign form doesn't work.
Also not on the website of The Cat.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

I uninstall my previous version and loaded the latest version of XF GuestBook 2.30 RC2.

Everything works until I switch on "Ask Validation Code"

When I do that, instead of a image with numbers I have a X (ie no image to display). When I check for the property of the image I get

http://www.albanycc.org.nz/modules/xfguestbook/include/randomimage.php?

Can someone help me please? We are getting spammed by about 70 to 100 entries a week.

My apologies. I initially posted the question in for a day or two without any response. That's when I thought maybe Comments was not the best place to place that question and reposted in the Module troubleshooting instead. The mistake wasn't intentional.

I've got XF Guestbook 2.30 RC2 installed for a while now.
The verification code option is enabled, but I keep getting a lot of spam.
I noted that XF Guestbook doesn't encrypt email addresses of posters, so they might end up with spam to.
Now I'm trying to add Lazarus Guestbook to my site, but I don't succeed really so far. Anybody has an idea about how to do this??
