Until ackbarr releases 2.02 version (hopefully very soon

), anyone uses the newsletter module on a production site is recommended to update.

1) fixed page navigation to show all newsletters in the archives
2) hided newsletter admin email for security measures (preventing email harvesting and spamming)
3) removed search function in the archive template file (for now, as it is not working)

I appreciate your zeal and work, but ask in the future that instead of releasing modified versions of the module, please submit the modified files in the patches section on the Evennews development site. This makes support of the module much easier.

This is also a good time to point out that anyone with bug fixes / feature ideas / modifications are welcome to submit them (with or without code) to the development site. Those that submit patches / features will get full credit for their submissions. I only ask that we keep the code in one place.

Hi ackbarr:
I do understand the need of keeping the codes in a single place, but I do think the fixes deserve a release, as we don't know when you will be releasing the next version (BTW, any timeline?).
Preventing potential email harvesting is extremely important to me and I would assume it would be to many others as well. This is the reason of releasing it.

I have just installed and begun using EvenNews 2.0a. I have a small problem with the module that I hope you can help me fix.

When I open the following link I get a totally ugly version (no html) format of my newsletter. Here's a link that shows the problem:http://envision-it.org/modules/evennews/

Any ideas what can be done to fix the problem?

ANy help is most appreciated. Thank you for the module. It is very useful!!!!

I think a newsletter subscription module is a 'must-have'.for a portal. This is currently one of only two options and looks really good.

However, the module currently available in the 'downloads' section on Xoops.org didn't work properly for me, or another user (as of November 2004 - see comments).

The 'fixed' version I was kindly directed to athttp://xoops-tips.com worked perfectly.

IMHO, if problems with a module are discovered, I am confident everyone would respect the original author if they were to post a brief comment on the downloads page directing people to any patches or updates (albeit perhaps through gritted teeth)

The link in the module repository has been updated to the latest released version (which includes the fixes from the xoops-tips version). In addition, a home page link has been added, pointing to the evennews project page on dev.xoops.org. Fixes / Patches, feature requests, bug reports should please be added to the relevant trackers for this project. Thanks.
