What's the difference? Is it only visual?

To be honest... I don't see much difference. A theme for xoops 2.6 must have more significant changes to reflect it's a whole new xoops version, is my opinion. Not a rework of the existing theme but a totaly new one, with a few hints to the old theme, so some typical Xoops looks can still be recognized. I also would like to see a fixed width theme, with full size banner and footer. As flexible content looks like a mess on a 27 inch Mac or other big widescreens people have nowadays.

Why not make a design competition?

I suggest to download the XOOPS 2.6 pre-Alpha code from XOOPS SVN to see the new Default theme that Nicolas is working on

I think, you'll be positively surprised! The main news is: both Admin and the User default themes are now based on Twitter's Bootstrap.

Nicolas did an awesome job with it, and the goal is to have everything HTML 5 and CSS3 based.

And Mage is doing a fantastic job with extracting some of the system functionality and putting it into separate "system modules"

That's in planning, once the XOOPS 2.6.0 code stabilizes. Right now a lot of things can change.

@flipse
I say those who use a 27 inch it the world for computer?
So we try to always be the same
I believe that only in the conferences using these screens.
Most people use screens from 15" to 19".

@mamba
Thanks for the link to bootstrap, from now on I will try to use this new system.

And away with the competition ...!

@timgo Using a '27 Mac is not a rarity, I have one A professional theme must adapt to all kinds of screens used nowadays, from Ipad to '27, square and widescreeen.
